Over the past weeks we have seen the steamy passion of a couple that is comfortable, open and intimate with one another and their love for Shibari. If there is one lingering question though, What is Shibari and how do I get involved?
What started as a form of torture for prisoners of war has adapted into something of beauty and sexual design. The Shibari we know of today was created by Seiu Ito, a painter in Japan that studied the original art of rope bondage whilst drawing inspiration from other art forms. In the 1950’s Kinbaku (Shibari) made its debut in a Japanese magazine Yomikiri Romance which featured photographs of a nude model bound by rope.
It wasn’t till recent years that Shibari made its way to the western world and making its way onto the BDSM scene creating new fusion styles and opening a new world to be indulged in.
When we reached out to this gorgeous couple to become brand ambassadors we didn’t realise how busy they are. Now these guys work hard! But they have this incredible love and passion and always make time to connect with each other through Shibari.
Jane is a part owner in a successful pole magazine (Australian Pole Dancers Mag) with 3 other jobs that she is just as dedicated to while Mel has his own street wear clothing brand The Never. We love The Never, make sure you check it out. Mel also works full time as a Mechanical Engineer and dances at the Princes of the Night at Crown Casino on the weekends! Busy hey!
Though they have FULL ON schedules they still include each others needs and make their relationship a priority. So for you our audience, we chose the Shibari Couple as they are love incarnate and a positive role model for anyone wondering if its ok to be open in a relationship.
The Shibari couple Jane & Mel were roped into the exciting world of Shibari after Jane became the subject of a suspended performance at the Klub Kink. Since then both Jane & Mel have taken classes together (most recently with the renowned Master Kinoko) to grow their own talents and knowledge about the promiscuous art form. Now the couples interest has bloomed into something quite incredible where they are able to appreciate its history and beauty while indulging in the play and sexuality it has to offer. For anyone interested in Shibari they are open for you to message them and ask what they know. Do some research and attend classes, classes include people with the same interests as one another and are there to explore the world of Shibari.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter
to be actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
